How Flat Fee MLS Listings Work

  1. Buy Online. Purchase one of our Home Selling Packages on our website using your credit card or a check. Our flat fee MLS broker will contact you within one business day (usually much sooner!) with listing forms and paperwork. These listing forms include the information about your property that will be seen on the MLS by buyers and real estate agents.
  2. Complete Listing Paperwork. Fill out the simple listing forms and send them back to your listing agent, completed and signed. Ask your broker if you have any questions.
  3. Your Listing Goes on the MLS. Within one business day (usually much sooner!) of returning the completed, signed listing forms, your home's listing will be placed on the MLS as well as over a hundred other websites.
  4. Your Hardware Arrives Quickly. For packages with signs, key lockboxes, or flyer boxes, these will be sent to you promptly and usually arrive within 2-3 business days. Rush service is available.
  5. Buyers See Your Home. Realtors will call you to schedule showings for their buyers, and by using a lockbox you can keep your home secure and avoid the inconvenience of needing to be home before or after every showing.
  6. More Buyers Call. Buyers without a Realtor will call you and ask for information about your home. They have seen your yard sign or advertising on the many websites your home will appear on (Realtor.com, Move.com, and many more). You then schedule a time where you can show them your home.
  7. Receive the Offer(s). Offers will detail the price, closing date, and other terms. Ask your broker if you have any questions.
  8. You Save Big. If the buyer was not involved with an agent, then you pay no buyer agent commission at closing. You have just saved an average of $8,072 on the sale of your home. If the buyer was involved with an agent, the buyer agent commission will be deducted from your closing proceeds. That amount is equal to the percentage you listed in the MLS when you first listed your property (generally recommended as 2.5-3% of the sale price). You have just saved $6,000 on the average home.
